Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition characterised by challenges with attention, focus, and impulse control that are inconsistent with a person’s age and can significantly impact daily life. In Australia, ADHD affects around 5-7% of adults, with men diagnosed at higher rates (3-4 times more than women) due to biological factors like brain structure differences and societal expectations that amplify visible symptoms.

For blokes, ADHD often shows up as restlessness, difficulty focusing, impulsive decisions, or trouble managing emotions, which can strain work, relationships, and self-esteem, especially when societal pressures to “get it together” lead to masking or denial.
